I worked as a Registered Nurse for twenty-five years, specialising in cancer nursing. I am very interested in how cancers develop and treatment options as well as their impact on the quality of life of those with cancer and their significant others. I am very interested in personalised medicine and was lucky enough to be a member of the Advisory Panel for the European Oncology Nursing Society’s TARGET Programme.
I feel passionate about education moved over to the Royal Marsden School as a Lecturer Practitioner in 2005. From 2005 until 2017 I focussed on cell biology and treatment of solid tumours. I was Programme Lead for the SGUL MSc until 2017. During 2018 I took some time out returning to the School in 2019. Currently I am working as a Lecturer and am mainly involved in supporting newer member of staff who are settling in to their new roles within the School.
I am passionate about supporting students who are studying whilst working. I am exploring ways in which to help students that are struggling with their academic work. I am in the process of further developing our Student Hub which is an area where students can engage with staff and with each other.
