About the programme

This one-day course will give you an understanding of the theories that underpin cognitive and behavioural approaches. Participants will learn the structure of a basis CBT intervention and gain an awareness of the sort of clinical situations suitable for a CBT-style intervention.

Participants will learn through simulated practice and be taught in a small group to best understand how the approaches can be used in your job role.

All psychological therapies take years of training and experience to gain competency. This course offers a grounding in key areas of communication, theory and some experiential practice. It does not qualify you to work with clinical threshold mental health problems, or to be a CBT practitioner.
